Drew Gibson is a principal of Gibson Speno, LLC, a real estate investment and investment company. The company owned approximately 1,800 apartment units and has also developed approximately 7,000 residential lots in the San Jose area over the past 8 years. He is also a Director and co-owner of Preferred Community Management, Inc., a real estate management company. From 1973 to 1985, he held the position of President and Managing Partner of The Koll Company’s Northern California Division, based in San Jose. Under his direction and leadership, the division developed and managed over 9 million square feet of office and industrial product in the San Francisco Bay Area. A former Navy pilot, Drew was Sales Manager for the San Jose office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services prior to joining The Koll Company in 1973.
In addition to his other responsibilities, Drew serves as Chairman of SJW Corp (San Jose Water Company), a publicly traded water utility listed on the New York Stock exchange, and as a Director and co-owner of Celluphone, Inc., a Los Angeles based cellular agent. He also served as a past Director of Comerica Bank-California and Chairman of the bank’s Audit Committee. He is a former Chairman and current Director of the Board of the San Jose Museum of Art Association and a past member of the Museum’s Collections Committee. He has also chaired the Museum’s Building Foundation, which was formed to raise funds for a new building (completed in 1994). mittee, is a member of the World Presidents Organization and a long-standing member of the Urban Land Institute.
Drew is a past recipient of the Community Service Award from the National Conference of Christians and Jews and has been selected as a Business Leader of the Year by Santa Clara County Magazine. He has also served as a Director and Chairman of the San Jose Chamber of Commerce and has worked with many other non-profit organizations.
